Happy New Year
The year 2020 will be forever etched into our minds. Collectively, humanity has been through an unfathomable amount. Whether for you 2020 is synonymous with a global pandemic, or a hopeful social awakening, or a nail-biting election, I am sure you too are feeling as though this year was the ultimate test. As a society, it tested our patience, our compassion, our ability to pivot. As we enter our final days of 2020, I am feeling undeniably hopeful that the darkest days are behind us. I hope you feel the same.
This past year, life in quarantine meant more than just daily Zoom calls and social distancing. Rather, I like to think that this time away from our offices, our desks, our colleagues, our routine, ultimately allowed us to shine a glaring light inward. Humankind took a collective pause. Because our deeply-ingrained daily rituals were no more, we as individuals were able to commit ourselves to meaningful change. Society at large followed suit: major sports teams changing their names, we witnessed the highest voter turnout in history, and America elected the first female in national office representing Black and Asian cultures. 2020, while extremely challenging, was also a year of profound growth.
So, as the clock strikes midnight on December 31st, I hope you feel heartened by the progress, and at the same time committed to the mission of creating a more equal, fair, loving world.
I look forward to connecting with you in 2021.
